About

I have always believed that every individual has a unique view of the world, based on their role in it. The understanding that none of us are totally individual but are part of a greater whole, either as part of a small family unit or a greater community, is critical to the growth process and choosing a life that matches your core values.

I completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto and then worked as a secondary school teacher for nine years, both locally and internationally. I spent a lot of time learning and working with children, adolescents, and young adults in a variety of treatment and educational settings and I absolutely loved it.

In 2011, I decided to make a career change and obtained my Masters in Mental Health Counselling from Seton Hall University. I now work as a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), in the Toronto community, as well as in a private practice setting, and find myself continuing to work with young people across many cultures, countries, and communities.

Becoming a mother and living in such a diverse city has inspired me to continue working with children and young adults to help improve their lives and make resources more accessible for everyone in our city. I continue to be passionate about advocacy work, especially regarding Violence Against Women (VAW) issues. I also conduct workshops for young clients on topics such as consent, surviving trauma, forgiveness, and the impact these issues have on learning in the classroom.
